The owners of this beautiful lakeside property had a vision to create a pollinator garden in their backyard, a vision to remove the steepest portions of the existing lawn and transforming these into a wild whimsy, meadows and naturalized areas re-wilded to benefit insects and bird habitat. They began by halting mowing in these areas and then determined they would like a more robust and visually diverse area with more variety and seasonal interest. Thus far, 2100 square feet of lawn have been converted to MEADOW + PERENNIALS, from a monoculture of one type of lawn grass to a biodiverse habitat exceeding forty species. New plants include:
